MASHED BANANA BALLS
Preparation time: 15 mins Cooking time: 7 mins Serves: 2
A yummy treat for all ages, these banana balls are easy to prepare. Parents can be confident that
they are both palatable and nutritious with essential minerals like Calcium, Magnesium and
Carbohydrates. The sweet balls have a crispy appearance with crunch in every bite. They are ideal
as a snack, lunch box item, for picnics or as a dessert.

Ingredients
2 medium-sized ripe bananas
2 tbsp white flour
1½ tsp suji (semolina)
3 tbsp milk
3 tsp sugar
Oil for frying

Method
1. Mash the bananas by hand. Add the white flour and sugar. Add the suji (this gives it
its crispy taste and appearance). In case the dough feels tight, use a little milk to make
it manageable. Make walnut-sized balls from the dough and set aside.
2. Heat oil in a kadhai or deep frying fan. Test the temperature with a drop of dough – if
it sizzles and rises to the surface, the oil is ready. The oil should not reach smoking
point. Fry all the balls. It will take about 2 mins for them to cook through. When they
turn golden brown, remove the balls from the oil and place on tissue paper to remove
any extra oil.
3. Serve hot, dusted with icing sugar or cool and pack into an airtight box, to eat later.
